The Supervisor I–II position at Netsync is an essential leadership role focused primarily on the installation of network hardware infrastructure across educational and professional environments. This is a hands-on installation-focused role that supports day-to-day oversight of field technicians and ensures the successful execution of all project deliverables. Candidates must possess strong field experience, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of structured cabling and network equipment installations.

The selected candidate will act as an assistant project coordinator (PC) and key liaison between the field teams and project leadership. This role includes mentoring by Supervisor III’s and Area Supervisors, and is designed for experienced professionals who are ready to grow into more advanced leadership positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise ENG I–III technicians in the field, ensuring consistent compliance with Netsync quality standards, safety procedures, and installation best practices.
  • Serve as an on-site lead for high-visibility and complex network installation projects, including structured cabling, switch/AP/phone/UPS deployments.
  • Act as the main point of contact (POC) for a multi-year project supporting a major hospital district in Louisiana.
  • Conduct network assessments and produce thorough documentation of client MDF/IDF environments.
  • Support associate project coordinators in driving project schedules, materials, and deliverables to completion.
  • Monitor team progress, escalate issues as needed, and ensure technicians are completing accurate documentation using Microsoft Word, Excel, and internal tools.
  • Participate in regular QC checks and audits of technician work to maintain a high level of service.
  • Review ENG I–III technicians quarterly and provide feedback to leadership regarding performance, growth, and accountability.
  • Ensure proper use of tools, safety equipment, and adherence to ladder and job site safety protocols.
  • Support new team member onboarding, training, and development in collaboration with Supervisor III's and Area Supervisors.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements of Job

  • Punctuality: Must be consistently on-time for work. If unable to attend, must notify the designated supervisor at least one hour in advance.

  • Driver’s License: Must possess a valid, non-expired driver’s license.
  • Background and Drug Screening: Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older.
  • Team Player: Must be able to work collaboratively with teammates in a professional manner.
  • Reliable Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Flexible Hours: Must be able to work flexible hours, including:
    • 4 PM - 12 AM
    • 8 AM - 5 PM
  • Work Hours: This job may involve long working hours with minimal breaks.
  • Availability: After device cutover, day-1 support may be required, and the individual must be available and on standby for these engagements.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to squat, bend, and reach without limitations.
  • Documentation Comprehension: Must be able to understand and follow deployment documentation as a guide for installations.
  • Commute: Must be able to drive at least up to 4-5 hour to job sites daily.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to work in hot environments and endure the associated conditions.

Skills and Experience

IT Experience Required

  • Racking and Stacking: Experience with the racking, stacking, and powering of switch devices.
  • Port Migration: Ability to perform port migration from old devices to newly installed switches.
  • Perform installation of internal and external Access Points (APs).
  • Perform installation of data center appliances, including all associated cabling and labeling.
  • Phone Installation: Proficient in installing end-user phone devices across various campus settings, including desks, offices, furniture, and other designated locations.
  • Cisco Knowledge: Familiarity with Cisco platforms, including device operation and functionality.
  • Cable Management: Proficient in managing power, data stacking, and ethernet cabling.
  • Installation: Capable of racking and powering UPS devices, including lifting and mounting equipment weighing 50-70 lbs independently.
  • Cabling: Skilled in connecting new ethernet cables from UPS to newly installed switches and documenting switch and port numbers.
  • Height Comfort: Comfortable working on ladders daily to install Access Point devices 6-15 feet high.
  • Safety and Security: Ability to install devices safely and securely, adhering to Netsync installation documentation.
  • Project Requirements: In Louisiana, this will be a hospital cutover project, and we are seeking individuals with experience and understanding of hospital network environments. Netsync will be replacing network switches across all associated hospital clinics and buildings.

Cabling Infrastructure (Preferred but not required)

  • Cable Management: Proficient in cable management techniques.
  • Troubleshooting: Able to tone out cables, troubleshoot ports, and restore appropriate devices online.
  • Fiber Uplinks: Experience in troubleshooting fiber uplinks and testing/validating connectivity for newly installed devices.
  • Professional Direction: Ability to follow directions professionally and ensure devices are fully operational before leaving the site.

Tools for Efficiency

  • Installation Role: As this is an installation job, tools are required for conducting work on customer sites.
  • Essential Tools: Team members should have at a minimum, Phillips screwdrivers, snips, etc.
  • Optional Tools: While not required, cordless drills can enhance efficiency during installations.

Minimum Qualifications/Technical and Educational Requirements

  • Experience in healthcare or hospital environments.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Project+, or equivalent.
  • OSHA 10/30 or other relevant safety certifications.
  • Familiarity with E-Rate-funded projects and/or large-scale K–12 deployments.
  • Experience working in a Project Coordinator or Assistant PM capacity is a plus.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in network infrastructure installation and technician team oversight.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising field teams on the ground during network deployments.
  • Strong documentation skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Comfortable performing assessments and walk-throughs in MDF/IDF network environments.
  • Proven ability to lead structured cabling, switch, AP, and voice deployments with minimal oversight.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Must reside within a 1–2 hour commute of Baton Rouge or New Orleans and be available for local travel across job sites.
