Description: Under the direction of the NOC Manager – Network, the Network Operations Center (NOC) Senior Network Engineer is responsible for creating and evolving internal IT network and ensuring reliable delivery of our clients Network Infrastructure services. The Senior Network Engineer will train and mentor all members of the IT operations staff and systems while providing technical recommendations based on requested operational changes for the improvement of the network. This job will be ONSITE 100%

Responsibilities:

  • Provide top-level support and ownership of network computing infrastructure technologies in a large-scale environment (Cisco/Cisco Meraki).
  • Optimize stability, availability, reliability and performance of networking infrastructure.
  • Lead or assist in resolving escalated incidents and participate in problem management activities.
  • Monitor and control infrastructure processes and implement security measures to provide stable and secure systems platforms.
  • Conduct or assist the implementation of new or additional infrastructure technology to augment and improve infrastructure service.
  • Conduct and make recommendations on LAN & WAN resource, performance and capacity planning.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and their advantages so as to recommend technological improvements for the Firm.
  • Cross-train other IT staff in the use or maintenance of network technologies.
  • Configure and manage all NOC tools and software
  • Configure systems integration through database, API or scripting
  • Recommend tools, software, systems or enhancements to deliver a feature rich NOC
  • Recommend process improvements to drive efficiency
  • Monitor and test network performance for potential bottlenecks and identify possible solutions
  • Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on any task
  • Provide support for complex issues that require escalation
  • Liaison with vendors and other IT personnel for system or problem resolution
  • Draft MOP and Change Request documents in compliance with ITIL Standards
  • Maintain strong working relationship with customers and team

Skills and Experience:

  • Preferred experience with ManageEngine, JIRA ITSM, Syslog, Traps, Netflow
  • Extensive experience with Meraki monitoring concepts, technologies and tools
  • Experience with SNMP, MIBs, Log Collection
  • 5+ years of working experience in information security, technical operations, or similar capacities
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with individuals across various levels
  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams.
  • Exceptional people skills with demonstrated ability to work with both a technical and functional audience.
  • Good understanding of information security principles and IT infrastructure including operating systems, applications, communications and network protocols.
  • Solid understanding of networking and security including routing/networking and TCP-IP protocols

Minimum qualifications:

A minimum of 5 years IT industry experience in systems administration, understanding monitoring protocols and having a background in NOC/SOC environments. (Preferred experience, with Cisco Meraki, JIRA ITSM, ManageEngine, Syslog, Traps, NetFlow, CCNP Certification is desired).
